You Can Expect A Salary Bump In 2021 As A Part Of Dubai’s AED57.1 Billion Budget Plan

The Dubai government has allocated 35% of its AED57.1 BILLION 2021 budget for salaries and wage allowances for entities working in the public sector.

This decision has been taken in accordance with the requirements of the new HR law to ensure family and community stability after the COVID-19 economic crisis.

This budget was approved by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on Sunday, December 28 afternoon.

The budget will further be allocated to the following areas:

  • 31% of the budget will go for the social development sector in areas of health, education, housing, women and children’s care, as well as developing reading and coding initiatives
  • 26% for grant and support expenditure to meet the requirements of human and community development; and provide public services to the residents of Dubai
  • 22% of the total expenditure was allocated to the department of security, justice and safety
  • 41% has been allocated to Dubai’s infrastructure and transportation sectors
  • 6% has been set aside to support the sector of government excellence, creativity, innovation and scientific research
  • 1% to the private sectors, in accordance with the principle of preparing for the impact of the crisis
  • 6% has been allocated to serve the public debt
