Parents are urged to remain vigilant following an attempted abduction outside a Dubai school.

The alleged incident happened on Tuesday outside GEMS Dubai American Academy in Al Barsha and in the wake of the attempt, nearby American School of Dubai, issued an alert to parents.

The incident was reported by a Year 4 student, who reported that a suspect in a vehicle claimed he knew the student’s father and tried to lure him into the car with the offer of sweets, according to ARN.

“The incident outside one of our schools was brought to our immediate attention and we confirm that all our students are safe. The matter is now being investigated by the authorities.”
