A Whopping AED73 MILLION Worth Of Counterfeit Goods Have Been Seized By Dubai Customs

Dubai Customs has made close to 130 seizures of fake goods worth a shocking AED 72.6 million in the first half of this year— all thanks to its advanced inspection equipment. 

Among the goods that were seized, there were fakes of watches, perfumes, electronics, medicines, cosmetics and popular clothing brands

According to a report in Gulf News, director of the Intellectual Property Rights Department at Dubai Customs, Yousuf Ozair Mubarak said: “Intellectual property rights protection gains double importance in the evolution course of our national economy.”

“We also cooperate with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and with other relevant authorities to coordinate efforts against counterfeiting.”

Typically, goods from seizures such as this are destroyed by authorities
