A new initiative for ‘people of determination’ has been introduced at Al Mamzar Beach Park, which provides a ‘water chair service’ for those in need.

These unique water vehicles will allow people who use wheelchairs access the water in an dignified and comfortable mannor. The vehicles have three wheels and can be used on both sea and sand.

“Water Chair Service is available now at Al Mamzar Beach Park to help People of Determination and elderly in swimming and kayaking in the middle of the sea” – Dubai Municipality

The vehicles are available at Al Mamzar Beach

Access to the beach is free for people of determination, while regular access is AED 5.

The initiative is part of a wider aim to empower people as per a directive from HH Sheikh Mohammed, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who in the same order announced that people with special needs should now be referred to as “the determined ones”.
