A week before Valentine’s Day, we asked Lovin’ followers to send us their cutesy little stories about how they found love in Dubai.
And safe to say… Dubai delivered.

“I lost balance while cycling at Kite Beach (which is quite unusual for me), and he helped me get up and took good care of me… Asked for my IG so we could cycle together next time.”
And just like that, a beachside tumble turned into forever.
What started as an embarrassing cycling fail is now a full-blown love story. The happy couple is preparing for their wedding next summer.
Proof that sometimes you literally fall into love.
“We matched and realised we grew up five minutes from each other our entire lives because we were both raised in Dubai.”
Imagine living practically around the corner from your person for years… and then having to meet through a dating app.
The couple’s been together for almost two years now, and honestly, this feels very Dubai-coded. And is it just us, or did you also get the red-string-theory feels from this love story?
This one feels straight out of a rom-com movie.
They met at a bar in 1998. He was travelling between London and Dubai, she had just returned from work in Al Ain and almost didn’t even go out that night (thankfully, close-save tho)
But then she saw him and almost immediately told her friends, “I am going to marry him and have his babies.”
Manifesting before manifestation was even a thing.
Dubai was smaller back then. They talked. He flew in every weekend from the UK to see her (bare minimum truly was not a thing in the 90’s).
Fast forward 25 years and they’re happily married with two children, still very very veryyyy much in love.
Not surprisingly, a number of you admitted that workplace romances actually worked out for you.
Some fell for their clients. Others fell for the person sitting across from them during roster changes and coffee breaks.
And somehow, between meetings, deadlines and “per my last email,” love happened.
To everyone still swiping and wondering if it’s worth it, apparently, YES.
A huge number of responses came from couples who met on dating apps. And many of them are now happily married to the person they once nervously swiped right on.
It might not be a 9-season “How I Met Your Mother” storyline, but it’s very 2026-coded romance.
A simple swipe.
A first coffee.
A lifetime later.
So if you’re still out there hoping, don’t lose it.
Cupid clearly has WiFi.
To the pet mum who wrote in about her three adopted cats being the loves of her life. We see you.
And to the twenty-something whose greatest commitment is to Chips Oman and Sohar. We get you as well. Some loves are classic.
Dubai seems to be shooting everyone with the cupid’s arrow. And we’re all here for it.
And if these stories prove anything, it’s this: love shows up when you least expect it.
(sometimes you just have to fall off a bike first or drop by the snack aisle)
