A ‘beggar’ with AED100,000 hidden in his prosthetic leg was arrested in Dubai during the Eid holiday.

Police found the man in his sixties, who is not a permanent resident of the UAE, begging in Al Quoz with AED25 cash.

However, after a brief inspection police found AED45,000 hidden in the man’s fake leg and in total the man reportedly had AED100,000 on his person.

Begging is illegal in the UAE and residents can call 901 to report suspicious activities to police.
