65 beggars, 10 of which are women, have been caught begging on the streets since the beginning of Ramadan in Dubai according to a report via the KhaleejTimes.
Every year just before Ramadan, Dubai Police launch an anti-begging campaign to eradicate begging and those who, according to Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, are on the streets to exploit the generosity of the people at this time.
According to the report, at least 16 of the beggars apprehended came to the country without the correct permissions, and the beggars will use various excuses to extract money from people. People should be aware and share with the truly needy rather than opportunists at this time.
