Eight lives were claimed in Dubai yesterday after a minibus rammed into a lorry.
And Dubai Police shared images from the accident as a sharp reminder to drivers to be more careful.
Eight people were killed and six others seriously injured in a traffic accident between a 14-passenger minibus on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road- Sharjah Bound, before Mirdif City Centre Exit, according to Dubai Police.
The incident happened in the early hours of Monday morning when the minibus driver rammed into the lorry, which was stationary on the road shoulder.
Police confirmed the seven victims are Asian nationals and noted that there have been 34 accidents similar to this one over the last eight months.
“35 accidents occurred during the same period last year, resulted in 12 deaths and 87 injuries, 11 of them suffered severe injuries, 27 suffered moderate injuries and 38 suffered minor injuries.” according to Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, director of Dubai Traffic Police.
