While an AED100 charge sounds like a pain, the purpose makes a lot of sense.

Dubai Police are aiming to cut down on police stations by 80% before the end of this year, by adding an AED100 charge for manual service.

There are now 18 services you can avail of through the Dubai Police smart app which is available via your mobile and on touch screen services throughout the city.

The use of online services saves both the public and police time and efforts.

Want a manual service? You’ll have to pay AED100

The services available on the app now include:

Night work permit, certificate for lost possession, ‘to whom it may concern’ certificate, certificate of good conduct, for paying traffic fines, issuing of e-accident reports, house safety scheme, traffic fine certificate, request for list of traffic fines, request for copy of a traffic violation, driving licence processing, report about minor accidents and reporting suspicious online activities.

The police hope to have 40 services available via smart service by the end of the year, according to a report in the Khaleej Times.
