Watch as other countries follow…
The Roads and Transport Authority has revealed their latest project, Sky Pods, they look just as cool as they sound and a lot less infrastructure is needed over current conventional transport methods.
Dubbed the ‘future of mobility’ by the RTA, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai inspected the totally futuristic Sky Pods this week.
Servicing a similar number of people, the electric pods require less infrastructure and use five times less power than regular electric vehicles.
HH checked out the Sky Pods two models, the unibike and the unicar, which both move on rails.
Each unibike can hold five riders and travel at a speed of 150 km/h, while unicars can hold six travellers and also reach speeds of 150 km/h.
Dubai thinks out-of-the-box… It is taking bold steps with the aim of kick-starting a revolution in transportation by undertaking new projects such as the Dubai Sky pods, a futuristic mobility system that requires one tenth the infrastructure of conventional transit systems pic.twitter.com/0gm5PkjthZ
