There has been an explosion in an apartment in Dubai’s Al Khail Gate community earlier this morning which has injured at least two people.

The incident occurred at approximately 11.20 am today in a fifth floor apartment of Building Number 39 in Phase 1 of the Al Khail Gate community in Al Qouz.

According to eye witnesses, the walls of the apartment were ripped off and the apartment below also sustained damage. There was no sign of any fire after the explosion.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, where at least one man and one woman were taken to hospital. There have been no further reports on their condition since the explosion.

Dubai Police have not yet commented on the possible cause of the explosion.
