Most People Found Emirates April Fool’s Insta Post Funny But Fazza’s Comment Made Them Think Twice

You gotta love Emirates for year-on-year dishing out some of the best April Fool’s pranks out there.

No other airline does it quite like Emirates, whether it was 2017’s ‘triple decker plane’ or last year’s so-cool-we-wish-it-was-true SkyLounge, that promised transparent walls – or floor-to-ceiling windows.

This year, Emirates fooled the world with chauffeur-less drones

Emirates announced the slick drone would go from any location in Dubai to DXB from April 2020, and Emirates Skywards Platinum members could avail of the service.

‘Each drone features two of Emirates’ game-changing fully-enclosed First Class private suites, offering signature luxury, privacy and comfort. This revolutionary drone airport transfer service will be offered to all Emirates Skywards Platinum members.’

April Fool’s pranks tend to work best when they’re ALMOST real and HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai was quick to jump into the comments with his own two cents on the prank.

“In reality, similar projects will take place much sooner than we think”

Dubai aims to transform 25% of the total transportation in Dubai to autonomous mode by 2030

And this would include ‘flying taxis’

Dubai is currently testing the world’s first autonomous air taxi project, so it looks like the Emirates prank IS, in fact, a very real prospect.
