It’s no secret HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai is an animal lover and his latest post to the ‘gram further cements that status.

Fazza posted a video showing a giraffe being shot with a tranquiliser dart, before the animal was secured with ropes and a conservationist team used a small saw to clip its hooves. HH watched over the operation and the giraffe is seen jumping up immediately after and trotting off into the distance.

A giraffe’s hooves are trimmed when they don’t wear off naturally and hooves can wear more slowly on sand.

Today our conservationist team did a great job trimming this giraffe’s hooves. ???? Well done!
