A flydubai flight from Dubai to Kabul had to be turned back to Dubai after a passenger with a knife threatened cabin crew.
The flight, the FZ301 was bound for Kabul when a passenger tried to access the cockpit of the plane, threatening staff.
It was reported to be a hijacking attempt, however flydubai has denied this claim.
The director general of GCAA told national news agency WAM that the incident was on board the plane and the passenger was detained upon landing at Dubai airport.
He said: ”The accidental incident happened as a result of a behaviour of one of the passengers who was detained by the competent authorities upon the arrival of the plane to the airport.”
