Reports circulated earlier this week, that Emiratis were being abused at airports in Georgia, and being told to return to their home country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs investigated the reports, which were circulated on social media – and has found that no cases have been registered.

The ministry made a statement that the incidents may have been relating to foreign nationals being turned away at the Georgian borders, in the company of Emirati nationals.

The ministry made a statement

According to national news agency WAM: “The information indicates that the cases that have been denied entry to Georgia were for some foreign nationalities residing in the country and accompanying UAE citizens.
