The UAE billionaire, Khalaf Al Habtoor has called for a boycott on US companies that have backed out of Saudi’s Future Investment Initiative summit.
In several tweets and an op-ed article on Arab News, the mogul encouraged the rest of the GCC, Egypt and Jordan to stand in support of Saudi, by boycotting companies like Virgin and Uber to show that the region cannot be bullied.
It comes following the news of the disappearance of Washington Post columnist, Jamal Khashoggi, from the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.
Now is time for #GCC & allies of #SaudiArabia to prove their loyalty by boycotting @Virgin @Uber & all the companies pulling out of #KSA before the truth about #Khashoggi’s disappearance is revealed. Together we can prove our unity & that we cannot be bullied. #KhalafAlHabtoor pic.twitter.com/9HuFDe0sVQ

Citing the disappearance of Khashoggi, on October 2.
International leaders have been discussing the case, and questioning Saudi Arabia’s role in the man’s disappearance, however Saudi’s Foreign Ministry has released a statement that it will not tolerate any external pressure – and any action or economic sanction imposed on Saudi will result in ‘greater action’ from the Gulf power.

2 of 3. Media & the world need to wait for the truth to be revealed in the disappearance of #JamalKhashoggi before making assumptions.
I urge @realDonaldTrump & his administration to hold before inviting Khashoggi’s alleged fiancée to #WhiteHouse.#KhalafAlHabtoor #KSA #Turkey— KhalafAhmadAlHabtoor (@KhalafAlHabtoor) October 12, 2018
3 of 3. The question of the hour: Where is #JamalKhashoggi @JKhashoggi? We pray that he be found alive and well.
We need to be rational and allow investigators to do their job before jumping to conclusions.#KhalafAlHabtoor #KSA #Turkey @realDonaldTrump— KhalafAhmadAlHabtoor (@KhalafAlHabtoor) October 12, 2018
