Victims Of Human Trafficking Can Get Help From Dubai Police At The Touch Of A Button

Avatar

The UAE has seen a decline in the number of human trafficking victims from 37 victims in 2012 to 13 victims in 2015.

And once again it’s doing its best to combat the problem with the introduction of a smart app developed by the Dubai Police Human Trafficking Crimes Monitoring Centre and the General Department.

The app allows victims to report incidents so that the police can reach out to them and provide the required assistance

Victims need to enter their personal data, ID number and e-mail address along with the type of assistance required. Once the police have received the complaint, the person will get a confirmation message and a reference number.

Alternate ways to alert the police include the hotline number 800 5005 and email htccc@dubaipolice.gov.ae.

Director of Human Trafficking Monitor Centre, Col. Dr. Sultan Al Jamal, said: “We are eager to open all means of communication between Dubai and the public”.
