What a glorious moment for the UAE!

Popular Emirati artist Hussain Al Jassmi is all set to perform at the 26th Christmas Charity event in Vatican.

The Concerto di Natale is taking place on Saturday, December 15 and Al Jassmi will become the first Arab artist to perform at the annual Christmas concert.

A UN Goodwill Ambassador, Al Jassmi is also a former judge of X Factor Arabia

His participation will be alongside a group of international artists at Paul VI Audience Hall on the eve of Christmas.

“I have always been pleased to contribute to charitable work in order to create an environment conducive to a dignified life, respect, equality and peace, the values that we have grown on and inherited from the late Shaikh Zayed,” he wrote on social media.

The first ever Vatican Christmas concert was held in 1993

The proceeds from the charity concert will go to improving the lives of refugees in Erbil, Iraq, and Uganda through Scholas Occurrentes, a charitable foundation founded by Pope Francis.

His participation in this prestigious event is a nod to the UAE’s values of tolerance, moderation and intercultural exchange.

This news comes days after it was announced that Pope Francis will be making a historic visit to the UAE next year.
