Man Behind The Iconic Dubai Restaurant Chain Passes Away Days Before His New Opening

The founder of Karachi Darbar, the iconic Pakistani restaurant chain in Dubai, died on Friday.

Haji Mohammad Farooq was 70 years old. He complained of a leg pain, and was rushed to Rashid hospital. It was a sudden death but he passed away peacefully according to his son Ayaz.

The restaurant chain has been in Dubai for 40 years and his death comes just before the opening of the chain’s 29th restaurant. He is survived by his wife, son and five daughters.

The restaurant is a firm old Dubai favourite

It serves up delicious food for great value. All branches of the restaurant closed for a two day mourning period and will reopen on the 7th.
