In a tragic incident, a 21-year-old Indian student has committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of a building on his university campus in Dubai. 

The police officials were alerted about the incident and arrived at the campus around 10.30am. They found him lying in a pool of blood and, upon checking, pronounced him dead. 

The father of the student was with him at the time of the accident

As per the account shared by the student’s close friend, his father had accompanied him to the university to pay his fees. At some point he informed his father that he wanted to use the washroom. Instead he climbed the building to jump to his death. 

The friend told the police that he didn’t show any signs of distress or depression when he last spoke to him the night before the incident.

Murdoch University Dubai confirmed the death of their student

The university issued a statement and offered their condolences to family members and friends. They are also providing counselling to all the students and staff members of the college.

The Dubai Police is currently investigating the cause of death to rule out any criminal motive behind the incident.
