Inside Talks: IPL2020 To Work As A ‘Re-Start Button For The UAE’!
With the global economy coming to a complete standstill as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UAE’s persistence to overcome the economic slump is beyond impressive. Moreover, the country being able to adapt and bring back normalcy amid the ongoing pandemic has attracted the 2020 Indian Premier League, (IPL) to the UAE to resume their rescheduled IPL season.
With the UAE being open for business, this MEGA cricket event is said to work as a ‘re-start button for the UAE’, showing the world that Dubai is back up and running. Furthermore, in a report published by Gulf News, Rajasthan Royals, the IPL franchise “created a buzz when they announced Dubai Expo 2020 as their title-sponsors. However, the COVID-19 pandemic jeopardised the plans.”
In a statement given to Gulf News, Ranjit Barthakur, chairman of Rajasthan Royals commented on the courage of the UAE, BCCI and India by saying,
“It’s been very courageous on part of India, BCCI and the UAE – who are calling it an opportunity rather than a risk. This is the restart button for the UAE. Our compliments to all three parties because it brings positivity.”
Cricket legend and CSK’s captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni landed in Dubai for the 13th edition of the competition, and MS Dhoni’s reaction after undergoing a COVID-19 swab test in this video may just be the cutest thing you see on the net today!
