A Dubai Teenager Has Made Us Proud…She’s Won The International Children’s Peace Prize

While most 16-year-old children are out having a good time, Kehkashan Basu is on a different mission.

The Indian expat, a student at Deira International School, has been chosen as the winner of this year’s International Children’s Peace Prize. Why? Because of the work she’s doing to protect the environment. She was selected from 120 entries.

She’s been doing this since she was eight…

In 2000 she organised a campaign to raise awareness on the importance of recycling waste.

In 2012 she founded Green Hope. The organisation runs waste collection, beach cleaning and awareness raising campaigns in ten countries with more than 1,000 volunteers.
