A decision has been made to ban barbecues at Jebel Hafeet following misuse of the area.
Al Ain authorities made the decision to protect the area, following noticable amounts of waste being left behind by visitors.
Fines will be imposed to anyone caught barbecuing on the mountain, according to reports.
Authorities recognise the popularity of camping and picnics, and have therefore suggested alternative areas, far from residential spots. Open areas for barbecues still remain in Al Sulaimi and Al Mebrazah.
Inspections will be carried out to ensure the areas are kept clean.
It’s simple: Leave a place better than you find it.
