Over his 40+ year career in Rhode Island, Judge Caprio became famous for giving people a fair chance and looking at their personal struggles before making decisions. His TV show Caught in Providence went viral, with billions of views online. That’s how he earned the internet’s nickname: the nicest judge in the world.
His family confirmed on Instagram that he died after battling pancreatic cancer, remembering him for his warmth and belief in the goodness of people. Just a day before his passing, he shared an emotional video from his hospital bed, asking people to keep him in their prayers. Communities across the world, including here in the UAE, are sharing heartfelt tributes to honour his legacy.
Back in 2023, Judge Caprio had a viral moment at Dubai Mall. He shared a video captioned “a warm welcome” saying he was overjoyed by the love he got. Moreover, shoppers were shocked to see him, rushing for selfies and quick chats. And of course, he happily stopped for every single one.
One of Judge Frank’s most famous cases was with a 96-year-old man who got a ticket for driving slowly. When the man explained he was only driving carefully because he was taking his 63-year-old son with cancer to a doctor’s appointment, Judge Frank immediately dropped the fine. Instead, he praised the dad for being so devoted, saying he was “the most honorable man” he’d ever met. The video went insanely viral, showing the world why people called him the “nicest judge in the world.”
