Avatar

A group of 6 gang members robbed an Emirates Hills villa, stealing and selling three luxury cars for AED3 million

They located the cars’ documents and forged the owner’s authorization letter to have them sold and stole the cars’ special license plates. The gang was then arrested by Dubai Police.

The owner of the stolen vehicles asked a friend to check in every now and then on his 9 luxury cars since he was out of the country, unable to return due to flight restrictions. His friend also couldn’t carry these regular visits due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Gulf News.

The villa’s security guard was in on the heist, working with the gang to help steal the cars

We formed different teams to identify the gang and interrogated the security guard of the villa compound who admitted to facilitating the robbery by guiding the robbers inside the villa and helping them drive the cars out.

Major General Al Mansouri said.

Brigadier Jamal Al Jallaf, Director of Criminal Investigation Department at Dubai Police, said the suspects were identified through the Criminal Data Analysis Centre. The main suspect was discovered having knowledge of selling vehicle mechanisms in the country.
