A man has been jailed for a year, and fined AED500,000 for insulting Islam on Facebook.
The Indian national was found guilty of posting messages on Facebook that disrespected Islam and the Prophet Mohammed PBUH.
The case found he used his own mobile phone to post the messages, which he deleted after posting, however the damage was already done.
Another Indian man filed the complaint to the Rashidiya Police Station on November 6 last year.
