Two weeks ago Mike Tyson announced that he was coming to Dubai to open a boxing academy. The new gym, Mike Tyson Academy, (MTA) is in conjunction  with his business partners Fred Frenchy and they hope to sell franchises of in Dubai, 

On arriving in Dubai at a press conference at the Viceroy Hotel on The Palm he said these amazingly complimentary things about our City:

1. Dubai is “a party place, a place you have a good time at. This is like New York City, man!”

2. “That’s what people think. They think of Dubai as some real strict Islamic place. … This place is so open. It’s just unbelievable.”

3. “People come over here and love this place. It’s just what it is… I’ve been all over the world … and everything they’ve got there, they’ve got here.”

Tomorrow night there will be a Gala Dinner at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai called ‘In Conversation With Mike Tyson’
