Mo Amer Talks Sold-Out Shows & Why He Prefers To Perform In The Middle East

Palestinian-American comedian and Netflix star Mo Amer is bringing his Palestinian Bear Tour to the Dubai Opera House for Dubai Comedy Festival 2025 on October 9 and 10. Tickets are flying, with one show already sold out.

Amer joined the Lovin Dubai Show to share why performing in Dubai feels special, how comedy helps shed light on real-life issues, and what fans can expect.

Why Dubai is different for Mo Amer

Amer has performed in Dubai since 2009, but this is his first big stint since Mo season 2. “Coming back to an Arab country, coming back to Dubai, it’s just a different level,” he said. “The intimacy of the Dubai Opera House is unmatched.”

Sold-out shows worldwide

From Europe to the US, his tour has been selling out. “All the European shows are gone, so I expect the same from Dubai. You can’t let Europe outdo you,” he joked.

Comedy with a purpose

Amer isn’t afraid to mix humor with truth. Speaking about Gaza, he said:

“Stand-up comedy makes you laugh and think. People are very aware of the genocide globally, Europe even feels more aware than the States. Comedy gives you space to talk about it in a way the news can’t.”
