Parts of Kerala, the Southern most state of India are still in a state of emergency after unprecedented floods over the last week.
More than 350 people have lost their lives and a full rescue relief mission is in operation; according to reports 725,000 people have sought relief at 5,645 rescue camps.
The UAE has been immediate in its relief action – setting up a basic relief fund, allowing residents to text donate – and UAE leaders are urging residents to donate generously, particularly on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.
Now, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked Dubai’s ruler, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his support
A big thanks to @hhshkmohd for his gracious offer to support people of Kerala during this difficult time. His concern reflects the special ties between governments and people of India and UAE.
