Legendary philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi died on Friday at a hospital in Karachi following a prolonged illness.
He was undergoing treatment for kidney-related issues at the hospital for the past few weeks but his condition had deteriorated earlier on Friday and he was breathing with the help of a ventilator.
His funeral will take place on Saturday in Karachi.
Known as “Angel of Mercy”, Edhi devoted his life to the poor and destitute. He was internationally recognised for his social work. Six decades ago he had established a welfare foundation that he oversaw together with his wife, Bilquis Edhi.

Unimaginable amount of hurdles must have come in his way. Political, sectarian, administrative nightmares. But #Edhi stood. And fought.
