A 74-year old elderly man from Nigeria was physically restrained by cabin crew of a Chicago-bound Emirates jet after he became unruly mid-flight.
As per the international media reports, the man was handed to the authorities and later taken to the hospital by the police after landing in Chicago.
The airlines spoke to a local newspaper and reiterated on how the safety of the crew and passengers are of utmost importance in a scenario like this.
“Emirates can confirm that a passenger on flight EK235 from Dubai to Chicago on 23 January had to be restrained by cabin crew due to unruly behaviour.
The passenger was handed over to the authorities on arrival in Chicago. The safety of our passengers and crew is of the utmost importance and will not be compromised.”

Fortunately for the elderly man, identified as David Okeone, aged 74, he was soon let go and no charges were recorded by the authorities.
