Give this man the Oscar!
Oscar nominations for 2019 were announced on Tuesday and the mega news is out:
Rami Malek, the Egyptian-American Golden Globe awarded actor has been given the nod for his scarily accurate portrayal of Freddy Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.
Malek faces Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Wilem Dafoe and Viggo Mortensen in the Best Actor Award Category.
Thank you to the Academy for recognizing the work of so many from the cast and crew who made all of this possible. I have absolutely treasured playing Freddie Mercury and I am so profoundly humbled and thrilled to honor him this way.

Director Nadine Labaki has become the first ever Lebanese and Arab female director to be nominated for an Oscar. The touching movie, which used real people to tell the story of children in Beirut slums, is up against Roma, Cold War, Shoplifters and Never Look Away in the category.
It’s happened! #Capernaum has officially been nominated for an #Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. This means the film’s superbly talented director, @NadineLabaki, has become the 1st Lebanese and Arab female director to get this recognition from the academy. #OscarNominations pic.twitter.com/hyq0iyc475
