Rawan recounted that in November 2024, she was admitted to the ICU following a suicide attempt. Despite appearing to have it all, she revealed that deep down, she was struggling. Personal tragedies, including her divorce and the death of her mother, pushed her into harmful coping mechanisms. She turned to binge drinking, overusing psychiatric medication, and overtraining, while surrounding herself with the wrong people.
She credits her time in prison with saving her life. “Prison saved my life because I knew my ending would have been tragic,” she wrote. The experience forced her to confront her struggles, and she described it as a chance to “rise, to grow and to shine,” this time with a new mindset.
For context, Rawan was arrested in Dubai and recently released after serving a one-year prison sentence, paying a financial fine, and facing deportation from the UAE. Her candid post provides insight into her personal journey of loss, growth, and spiritual reflection.
Reflecting on her path forward, Rawan said this Ramadan will be different. She plans to step back from sharing her looks or Iftars and Suhoors on social media and instead dedicate the month to her faith. “This year I want to dedicate Ramadan to Allah, our creator. Ramadan Mubarak,” she shared.
Her journey shows that even after everything falls apart, you can still hit reset and come back stronger.
