The Ministry also highlighted that entering valleys during active water flow, regardless of perceived risk, is a serious offence. Violators face a Dh2,000 fine, 23 traffic black points, and vehicle impoundment for 60 days.
Additionally, obstructing emergency responders, including police, ambulance, and rescue teams, during severe weather or flooding incidents is punishable with a Dh1,000 fine, four black points, and 60-day vehicle impoundment.
Abu Dhabi Police have also called on drivers to exercise caution during unstable weather, check forecasts before traveling, and avoid floodwaters or areas where rainwater collects.
Traffic authorities stressed the importance of safe driving, including reducing speed, maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, and avoiding distractions such as filming or using mobile phones. Adhering to posted speed limits and electronic road signs is essential for public safety.
Residents are urged to follow official guidance and take all necessary precautions to stay safe during the rainy season.
