Who hasn’t heard of the UAE resident who paid AED 33 million for a number plate? Where have you been mate?
Anyway, businessman Balwinder Sahani bought the number plate D5 at a Roads and Transport Authority auction earlier this month. The same guy has been fined AED 1,000 and four black points for parking in a space reserved for people with disabilities.
Needless to say it went viral. It shows the driver parked the car and less than a minute later the owner gets inside.
Lt Gen Al Mazeina of Dubai Police told Gulf News the owner apologised for the incident. He also stated the number plate does not matter – everyone is equal in the eyes of the law. True that!
