An in-store promotion at H&M UAE has some misleading promotional material on display and residents have conveyed their fury via social media.
The posters, on display in H&M stores, have a huge ‘250’ number below a ‘Now Redeem’ caption, which at a glance, would indicate you get a voucher, however it’s a reminder for shoppers to redeem their existing vouchers.
Resident, Annah Jacob shared an image of the signage, stating:
“Check out girl tells me this sign did NOT mean I got an AED250 voucher on my AED500 purchase today BUT that I got to redeem any voucher I received in the past during these days. HUH?? Who puts up a sign to remind people to use their voucher if they got one?
“Am I the only one left scratching my head?”
As it required shoppers to spend AED250 to be entitled to the voucher, THEN have to spend another AED250 to redeem the voucher’s AED250.
According to @hmuae – this sign means u can use a AED 250 voucher that you have on purchases over 500 for a limited time. Totally misleading https://t.co/tojlAvg04C

This is a Dubai Economic Department complaint in the making. The wording is poor.

This is rubbish. Which reminds me of the Souq billboard on SZR that says FREE* shipping.
