AMAZING: An Abu Dhabi Hotel Has Released 80 Endangered Baby Turtles Back Into The Ocean
On the occasion of Earth Day 2019 on April 24, Jumeirah on Saadiyat Island in collaboration with Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) released a group of 80 rehabilitated turtles back into the Abu Dhabi waters.
The island resort released 80 Hawksbill turtles, which had been washed up on the beach earlier this year and are officially listed as critically endangered back into the ocean on Tuesday afternoon.
The event was attended by hundreds of people
All these turtles have been rescued from local fishermen, beaches and other partners, and have been treated for infections, diseases and other relevant injuries
The Jumeirah hotel group is known to invest in conservation as part of its social responsibility programme.
Interestingly, the female hatchlings will return to the shores once they are ready to nest.
