Seven children from a family have died after a fire broke out in the air conditioning unit in their home in Rol Dhadna, Fujairah.
The children, aged between five and 13 – years old allegedly died of suffocation from the smoke.
The tragic incident has been confirmed to the police by Major General Mohammad Ganem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, via Gulf News.
The fire broke out in an air conditioning unit and was reported at 5.40am.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the home.
At 7.45am the children were found by their mother, unconscious in their home. Their bodies were moved to Dibba Fujairah hospital, according to the report.
An investigation into the fire is ongoing.
The children will be buried at Rol Dhadna cemetery following prayers at Al Dhuhr.
