According to Gulf News, the Shakespeare and Co. iconic café chain has shut its doors, stirring up major nostalgia in residents
Shakespeare and Co., a Dubai faveeee, wasn’t just a café; it was a haven. Established in 2001, it had over 35 branches, each oozing Victorian charm, dishing out amazing food, and serving with a smile.
The closure left a gap in the hearts of its loyal customers. An official statement about the closure is still pending, but the community is united in one thing – they’ll deeply miss this cherished spot.
Residents celebrated everything from birthdays and other milestones to hosting business meetings at the cafe. It was versatile and a real community hub…
A Lovin Dubai team member recalled a fond memory at the Victorian-styled cozy cafe,
“I can’t believe it’s shutting down! This was the first breakfast place I remember eating at when I moved to Dubai 10 years ago… I wish they had given us a pre-warning so I could visit one last time”
Another customer reminisced about their “delectable vegan pastries and the sophisticated menu”.
