Now, we don’t want to get everyone’s hopes up…BUT Microsoft has said it is working with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) to lift the ban and Skype and says it’s hopeful the agreement will go through soon.
According to The National, Microsoft has said it is still hopeful of a deal going through.
The statement to The National reads: “We are passionate about the benefits that Skype offers to our users around the world by facilitating communication and enabling collaboration.”
Skype was blocked in the UAE late last year for not adhering to UAE regulations on VoIP (voice over internet protocol).
But it could end up working again soon if Microsoft and the TRA sort out an agreement! Fingers crossed!
