The reasons have not yet been given by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) or Skype, but the communication provider released a statement on its website confirming the blocking.
It comes amid confusion after WhatApp calling features were enabled in the UAE, despite strict TRA laws on calling features.

The TRA released a statement on the WhatsApp unblocking, but has yet to issue any formal statement on the blocking of Skype.
Previously, Skype features were blocked on mobile data, as part of the TRA’s calling laws, however Wifi connections enabled Skype to connect.
