The fourth survey conducted by Community Development Authority (CDA) was taken to gain a better understand of the feelings of our society. To measure the level of happiness living here, and our personal level of safety and security .

From a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being ‘extremely happy’, the happiness of the people of Dubai has been measured at 8.2.

So if you’re happy and you know it clap your hands!

That means a big collective hand clap, people of Dubai. 15,077 people took part in the survey to give a transparent and clear results. The study has covered 3,796 families of which 1,328 were Emirati households, 1,504 non-Emirati households, 464 collective families and 500 individuals from labour camps. 56%  of males and 44% of people surveyed were female.

“This fourth survey aims to get a clear picture on the social services provided in Dubai and to be able to measure the satisfaction of society and their needs,”

Ahmad Abdul Karim Julfar, CDA Director-General.

The measure of happiness has risen since last year!

If you can believe this survey. This year we measure at 8.2, up from 8.0 in 2013 and 7.0 in 2013. In the past year Dubai chose a new Minister for Happiness. We wonder if her work can be attributed to the rise.

97% are proud to live in Dubai and 98% feel safe and secure when walking alone at night

For a city as large as this one, those numbers are very impressive.
