In continued efforts to improve labor conditions for all those who work in Dubai, a new law has been introduced whereby laborers earning less than 2,000 AED per month will receive free accommodation. The law comes into force in December.
What we are seeing of late is stricter guidelines for companies that are to look after their employees. This latest law that comes into force in December is the result of research carried out by experts into labor living conditions in the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
“The Decree, which demands that facilities that employ over 50 workers earning two thousand Dirhams or less per month provide proper accommodation to those workers, came following recent studies related to the labour market,”
Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation
