A UAE cabin crew member has been arrested for smuggling £100,000-worth of heroin into the UK in January last year.
Englishman Zohaab Sadique was working on a return flight between Dubai and Manchester when he was apprehended by Border Force in the UK.
The 30-year-old man was serving business class passengers on an Emirates flight before the drugs were seized, according to international reports.
He had hidden the drugs in his seat and was found to have hidden an extra piece of luggage on board as well. Sniffer dogs alerted border security to the presence of drugs after the flight had landed in Manchester.
He pleaded guilty, which means he will avoid trial and has been sentenced to eight years by Manchester Crown Court.
