A meat factory that manufactures mortadella and sausages out of processed frozen chicken in Ras Al Khaimah has been shut down for repackaging rotten chicken to sell to the market.
Director of the Criminal Investigation Department at RAK Police, Brigadier Abdullah Ali, stated that RAK Municipality had previously received a report that stated the factory was replacing old expiry dates to get away with processed meat that had gone bad.
An investigation by health inspectors confirmed the report, and thus, all products were confiscated and taken away.
The men involved will be prosecuted for affecting public health and safety.
