According to an annual report from Euromonitor which looks at beauty product spend internationally, Dubai residents have ranked as the seventh highest spenders on beauty products in the world.

The figures were released at the Beautyworld Middle East 2017 exhibition, which took place in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

UAE residents spent AED 878 per person on beauty products in 2016

Huda Kattan, of Huda Beauty fame, is one of the world’s most influential beauty bloggers. She’s based here in Dubai and with her amazing makeup range available at Sephora, is it fair to blame Huda for the high spend?!

The beauty industry in the UAE is booming

Looking just at the Dubai figures, the city traded AED 20.7 billion in perfumes and cosmetics last year, while the MENA region as a whole spent AED110 billion on beauty and personal care products in the same time period.

Next year, Beautyworld Middle East will be back from May 8 to May 10.
