Wondering what’s this? We’ve got the answer.

The National Festival Of Tolerance, organised by the Ministry of Tolerance, begins today until Nov 16, with the launch of the Tolerance Walkathon and other festivities.

Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the UAE Minister of Tolerance, spoke about the importance of the festival

“The main aim of this program is to encourage and qualify all categories and individuals of our community to utilise all their potential powers in spreading the values of tolerance, respect, coexistence and harmony among all UAE citizens and residents to achieve happiness and prosperity for all”

November 16 will be observed as the International Day for Tolerance, an annual declaration by UNESCO in 1995, to generate public awareness of the dangers of intolerance.

“The theme of the festival also reflects our pride of the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who laid down the foundations of social cohesion and instilled the values of tolerance, respect, coexistence and harmony among all UAE citizens to achieve happiness and prosperity of all humanity,” Sheikh Nahyan concluded.
