UPDATE: The Heat Alert Hoax Is Back And Making Rounds On WhatsApp
Lovin Dubai published an article earlier today announcing that a high heat alert had been announced by the Civil Defence, but soon discovered that this was a hoax- being passed around on WhatsApp by unknown sources.
If you’ve received the ‘warning’ about the UAE’s weather potentially reaching 47-50 degrees in weather, please be known that this warning sign isn’t factual.
An article by The Khaleej Times from 2018 also confirms this hoax, saying that the Civil Defense Command Ministry Of Environment does not exist.
