The UAE cabinet, chaired by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced it will offer one-year visas to citizens of disaster-struck countries.
The visas will be for a one-year duration, and these will be regardless of status – and exempt from any fines.
The news was announced on Monday, following news of 10-year visas for speciality skills, and student visas earlier in June.
Chaired by @HHShkMohd, #UAE Cabinet approves resolution that grants citizens of countries affected by wars and disasters a one-year residency visa, regardless of their residency conditions and exempts them from any fines.

The period for applying for the 1-year residency begins from August 1 to October 31 of this year, which can be extended and exempted from any irregularities or fines.
The move intends to offer those affected a chance to improve their living conditions until they are ready to return to their home countries.
The UAE reiterates its commitment to stand by the most vulnerable and needy people of the world as an active supporter of international peace and stability.
