Work To Suspend For 3 Days Along With 40 Days Of Mourning To Honour The Late UAE President

The Ministry of Presidential Affairs mourns the people of the UAE, the Arab and Islamic nations, and the whole world, the leader of the nation and the patron of its march, as His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, passed away on Friday, May 13 at 73 years of age.

And the Ministry of Presidential Affairs announces official mourning and flags at half-mast for the late HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In his honour, a mourning period of 40 days has been declared along with the suspension of work in ministries, departments, federal and local institutions, and the private sector for 3 days, starting today.

Tributes are pouring in from the UAE royal family and from residents across the country: “Khalifa bin Zayed, my brother, my mentor and my teacher, may God have mercy on you” 

“We belong to God and to Him we shall return… The Emirates lost its righteous son, the leader of the “empowerment stage” and the trustee of its blessed journey.. His stances, achievements, wisdom, giving and initiatives in every corner of the country.. Khalifa bin Zayed, my brother, my mentor and my teacher, may God have mercy on you with his vast mercy and enter you into his good pleasure and paradise.” – Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces
